sunshine day

Today got better. With the help of my husband, Martin made it through the whole day of school. After a few conflicts in the first five minutes, Martin had a good time working with his new tutor. And we have a lead for someone to accompany him to school temporarily. These are victories. But maybe Martin put it best when he offered up another one of his sidewalk psalms:

The leaves are on the trees...
And the something of the something is on the grass...
And we are walking...
And we will go to the zoo tomorrow...
A spider is not an insect...
And we're turning to the left...
And we are walking together.

At least for today, things are better.

  2. Hi, I found your blog through a friend of your ...sister? I think? My friend works at a school and maybe your sister used to work there? ANYWAY I just wanted to say hi and I am enjoying reading your blog and about your son (and daughter!). My first born (a four yeard old boy) is autistic, and I have a 19 month old and a 3 month old girl (I know, I am crazy). What you said about not knowing about a child of yours talking to you in a typical way really speaks to me. My husband and I have been in shock for the last few months, as our daughter starts to talk. It freaks me out, thrills me, and makes me feel guilty because I should have seen the difference with my son. But what do we know when it's our first, right? Anyway, hi, you are not alone, trust me. Good luck to Martin at school, I'm sure it will get better and I hope it's soon!
